This weekend the Metropolitan Museum of New York has dressed up to celebrate the MET gala , which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Costume Institute through the second part of the exhibition held last September In America: a lexicon of fashion. On this occasion, and under the title In America: An Anthology of Fashion , the theme was focused on the American Gilded Age . And despite the notorious absence of some stars like Zendaya , Dua Lipa, Jennifer Aniston, Meryl Streep or Angelina Jolie, the red carpet has left us worthy looks to remember that we collect right here.

And without a doubt, one of the dresses that left us speechless at the evening was that of Blake Lively , who came in a sweetheart neckline dress designed by Atelier Versace , with satin opera gloves. Its design, which was transformed in the middle of the red carpet to show a baby blue reverse, which is a tribute to the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building.
In that wonderful long-tailed skirt, you could also see the twelve zodiac constellations that decorate the roof of New York's Grand Central Station. The original shapes of the dress are inspired by the American designer, Charles James, while the Art Deco shapes are reminiscent of iconic NY landmarks like the Empire State.

Billie Eilish on her second visit to the Met Gala red carpet, made sure her second look stood out just as much as the first. The superstar opted for an incredible look from Gucci , by Alessandro Michele, made entirely from recycled materials.
Singer Billie Eilish wore an ivory satin corseted gown, complete with a green lace cape and ruched ivory skirt, and a padded bustle. For Eilish, it was important that her look was sustainable this year.
The look was also full of extravagant details. The train had a cascading flower arrangement, and on the bust there was a bouquet of colors. She completed her look with a black embroidered choker and beige platform shoes made with vegan materials.

Ashley Park , the American actress, star of Emily in Paris, was one of the most striking with her Maxilazo design by Prabal Gurung .
It was one of the most criticized dresses of the MET Gala. In social networks you could see the discontent of the people, because in previous events their looks left the bar very high.
Although the general public was not enthusiastic about the dress chosen by Ashley Park, she was one of the guests that best suited the theme of the event.
The dress is made up of a corset, which seeks to achieve the effect of the wasp waist, which becomes more striking with the bow at the back, which simulates the very typical bustles in the American Golden Age. Both the stitching and the bow are fuchsia in color that contrasts with the skirt in dark tones.

Vanessa Hudgens , the actress of High School Musical and the singer of "Envolver", was one of the first to be seen at the MET Gala, with a daring black dress governed by transparencies.
The dress is a Moschino creation that features see-through and delicate lace details, blending lingerie with haute couture to perfection.
The surprising dress features a high neck, balloon shoulders with well-fitting sleeves, a floor-length skirt and a chain of buttons on the back that provide a delicate dose of femininity.
The actress completed her look with a tight bun that was intertwined with false braids that revealed the stunning rhinestone earrings. As for the makeup, her beauty was enhanced with brown tones where her eyes stood out with mega false eyelashes.

Carey Mulligan this year has dared more than ever when it comes to shades, black and gold have had a special presence. Mulligan's dress, has a black tube style, whose neckline and the tail of the skirt were bathed in gold sequins.
This dress from Schiaparelli 's fall/winter 2021 couture collection seemed "perfect" to the English actress. And after two months of painstaking crafting, the team spent a total of 4,750 hours embroidering the resulting crepe sheath dress, embellished with 79,000 gold sequins and 38,000 crystals .

American model and former Victoria's Secret angel Taylor Marie Hill attended the 2022 Met Gala in a striking blue dress that was highly praised by most Twitter users. Taylor's look, called the Fall 2022 dress, was created by designer Miss Sohee .
The dress was composed of a blue satin with off the shoulders and long sleeves, huge flowers around the bodice and a huge train that left everyone present at the Met fascinated.
All eyes went to the long train that was made up of large, colorful, embroidered flowers that ran the length of the train in a beautiful pattern.
The dress was short in the front, revealing a pair of knee-high, stiletto-heeled boots, in the same color and fabric as the dress. She styled the look with an updo in curls and dangling earrings, and decided to keep her neck bare. Undoubtedly one of the greatest successes of the gala.

At this 2022 Met Gala event, most celebrities failed to adjust to America's Gilded Age theme. But that does not imply that some of these celebrities chose elegant and surprising looks, worthy of being remembered and praised. But we think that the MET Gala is one of the most important fashion events in the world, and precisely the element that makes it unique is the costume theme, and seeing how the big stars surprise us year after year.
